@Maham and Star: In my view there are two types of understanding: Conceptual or philosophical, and rational or experimental.
To prove a concept or a philosophy, one needs to reason its arguments. Arguments needs to be put on trial and be held against counter argument to reach a conclusion. That's how philosophy works.
Whereas in more rational cases, it is the experience or physical events what shapes your opinion and understanding.
